Throughout these lessons there will be Guitar Tabs. Tab is short for Tablature. Like the one following:

Guitar tab is the fingering of each note laid out in a visual manner. Instead of notes on the staff, it is fret number on the string. Top line is the thinnest high E string and the bottom line is the fattest low E string.

Individual numbers are just single notes. 0 is an open string, X is muted. Any numbers that are stacked vertically is a chord, triad or double stop. A number with an up arrow is a bend. A slanted line between notes means to slide. An H represents a hammer on. A curved line above two notes with a P is a pull off. You may see other information such as vibrato, strum patterns, and abbreviations such as PM for Palm Muting.

If you look on the internet, you can find tabs for almost every song. Just Google [Song Title] guitar tabs. Some are not always accurate. I usually check the comments on the tab for credibility. The incorrect ones will usually have some extremely kind and helpful words from other guitar players.
