An arpeggio is a musical technique where the notes of a chord are played individually in a sequence, rather than all at once.

Start with a basic chord and break it up. Instead of playing all the notes of the chord at once, you will play each note individually in a particular order.

Arpeggios can be played using fingerstyle (using your fingers) or with a pick. In fingerstyle, you typically use your thumb for the bass notes (lowest strings) and your index, middle, and ring fingers for the higher notes.

Arpeggios can be played slowly for a more delicate sound or quickly for a more energetic feel. Once you’re comfortable, you can experiment with different patterns, such as playing ascending or descending arpeggios.
